This privacy policy clarifies how your personal data is handled, for what purposes, and what rights you have regarding your personal data. The privacy policy is based on The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other applicable Swedish data protection legislation.

If you follow a web link (on one of our websites) to any of our business partners, then our partners are responsible for your personal data related to that interaction. ImmersiveUnity is not responsible for how your data may be collected and processed by third party websites that we may link to for your convenience.

What personal data is collected?

Examples, of personal data that may be collected (depending on your interaction with ImmersiveUnity), are: full name, username, password, email address, telephone number, postal address, country of residence; professional skills, title, profile pictures and given related information; purchase and order history, payment information, IP address, and information provided in forms, for example free comments.

How is personal data collected?

Personal data is collected through various interactions with ImmersiveUnity, for example: by filling out contact forms, when registering for newsletters and accounts for The ImmersiveUnity VR / AR Developer Community (IUDC), participation in competitions; in the case of agreements entered into regarding the purchase of ImmersiveUnity services, in contact with support / customer service; through different types of communication with ImmersiveUnity, for example: via e-mail, letter, text message, telephone, virtual or personal meetings. Personal data can also be collected via websites and social networks belonging to third parties.

The purpose of processing personal data and the legal basis for it

Your personal data is registered in secure internal company records. The gathered personal data is used for different purposes, depending on the type of interaction you have with ImmersiveUnity. The general overall goal for us is to offer the best possible service.

Our processing of your personal data must have a legal basis. Below examples are listed of the purposes we have for processing your personal data, and on what legal basis this is done.

Purchase of services or products

Purpose: handling of orders, notifications of delivery status, ongoing contact with customer for project management and more, invoicing.

Legal basis: Agreement. The processing is necessary to fulfill contractual obligations with you.

Customer Service and Support

Purpose: To handle customer service matters and deliver support regarding our products and services.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest and Legal obligation. The processing is needed in order to be able to handle your customer service matters and deliver support, which is our legitimate interest, and to fulfill legal obligations in the event of, for example, complaints.

Competitions

Purpose: To be able run and administrate competitions that we organize.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest. The processing takes place for our legitimate interest in administering competitions in which people participate.

IUDC Account

Purpose: To be able to administer memberships in The ImmersiveUnity VR / AR Developer Community and deliver the content and functions of the service.

Legal basis: Agreement. The processing takes place in order to be able to fulfill the agreement with you regarding membership in the IUDC.

Marketing and Newsletter

Purpose: To send offers, marketing and newsletters via e-mail, mail and SMS. We send personalized offers and targeted information, and this data processing may include profiling.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest. The processing takes place with your consent for direct marketing and / or newsletters, or for our legitimate interest in sending this.

Fulfilment of legal obligations

Purpose: We process personal data in order to comply with various laws, for example accounting and tax laws.

Legal basis: Legal obligation. The processing takes place in order to fulfil legal obligations.

Prevention of misuse and crime

Purpose: We process personal data to prevent misuse of our services and to prevent crime, such as fraud.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest. The processing is done for our legitimate interest in stopping or preventing misuse of our services, or criminal acts.

Other general purposes

Purpose: we use your data for some general purposes within the company, such as: to improve our services and products, speed up support, further develop and optimize our technical systems, and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest. The processing takes place for our legitimate interest in, among other things, increase the efficiency of the company and improve its IT systems.

Storage location and storage duration

ImmersiveUnity always strives to have all personal data stored and processed within the EU / EEA. If at any time personal data is processed outside the EU, this is only done in countries which, according to the European Commission, have an adequate level of protection, including the use of standard contract clauses approved by the European Commission or other protection measures.

We only store personal data for as long as it is needed for the purposes for which it was collected or for as long as is required to meet various legal requirements, as well as to prevent misuse and crime. Customer history is saved for a legally agreed time period for the purpose of possible future contact.

When might we share your data?

In order to offer swift customer service, create efficient and secure information management, and facilitate marketing, ImmersiveUnity uses personal data assistants in some cases. That means outside companies that assist us in running our business (such as payment management, operation of websites, web development, order fulfillment and more). These service providers are only permitted to use your personal data for the purpose of performing specific tasks in accordance with our instructions. They are obliged to keep your personal data confidential and secure.

In addition to the cases mentioned above, ImmersiveUnity may need to disclose personal data when there exists a legal requirement to do so, such as in a criminal investigation.

The security of your personal data

Within ImmersiveUnity, your personal data is handled in accordance with established security routines to protect this data against illegal or unauthorized access. Within ImmersiveUnity, the data is only provided to the people who need it, so that the company can conduct its business efficiently and deliver the best possible service to our customers. Furthermore, we are constantly vigilant and working with our IT infrastructure to ensure a high level of security for all the technical media used to store your data.

Your rights

We at ImmersiveUnity always want to be open about how we process your data. You can exercise the rights listed below by contacting us. We will respond to your requests without undue delay within one month. Regarding every case concerning personal data, we must verify your identity, though a verification process, before any data is shared.

  • Access to your personal data
    You have the right to free access to information about the personal data we have about you, which will be delivered in the form of a register extract.
  • The right to correct incorrect personal data
    You have the right to request that incorrect personal data be corrected, or that incomplete information (relevant to the purpose) be supplemented. If you use an ImmersiveUnity service with an account, you can usually change your personal data yourself.
  • Right to request deletion of personal data
    You can request deletion of your personal data, which will then be done to an extent based on any legal obligation, applicable law; and in accordance with any agreements entered with ImmersiveUnity.
  • Right to have your personal data moved (data portability)
    You have the right to obtain personal data that you have provided to us (e.g., through an agreement) in a structured, generally used and machine-readable format and have the right to transfer this to another personal data controller.
  • The right to object to your personal data being used for direct marketing or profiling.
    You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data that is done for direct marketing and/or profiling. However, for The ImmersiveUnity VR / AR Developer Community, profiling is used to fulfil some of the commitments that IUDC has towards its members for as long as the membership lasts
